Mosquito Netting Update

We came up with great ideas for fundraising, but the school is already gearing up for Pennies for Patients. Mrs. LeMay and I decided to not compete with the school-wide press for money, so we will work on some of those great ideas in late February. That will still give us time to send money for mosquito nets with Mrs. Nicolai in March.

Check out the Friends Serving Uganda website to see some of the work they're doing. Mrs. Nicolai also sent this picture from the November trip:

Here are some comments from Mrs. Nicolai:
"Hi - this is Annie's mom. Our trip in November was amazing! We were able to give mosquito netting to one of the villages. You can see the pictures on our website:

There are still two more villages (Kabuli and Ikumbya) that have not received netting. I got to see first hand the effects of Malaria and it is very sad. The people (and especially the children/babies) are unable to recover from the disease once they contract it.

Please let me know if you have anymore questions. The next trip is in March 2009."

I think we should raise money by selling gum at lunch. Since so many kids like gum these days, It would generate enough money for the fundraiser.

  2. I think we should charge money for a nerf war. It would be fun for everyone and we could make money for fundraising.
